One of the Centre's larger groups is Primrose Park Photography, an informal non-competitive photographic cooperative. The group offers a relaxed and friendly environment that helps you broaden and enhance your photographic skills. Our interests range from Pinhole photography right through all the traditional processes to the whole digital world - cameras, scanners, software and printers.
Visitors and friends are most welcome to attend any of our meetings and events. We hold meetings at Primrose Park on the first Wednesday of each month at 7.30pm (although there are occasional well-advertised exceptions), We hold frequent workshops and seminars for members and interested visitors, and we organise outings and other activities to provide interesting photographic challenges. We don't have competitions.
Our full time access to the Primrose Park Art & Craft Centre allows us to offer some special benefits to our members at low cost-
- A broad range of knowledge and skills that we're happy to share.
- A well-equipped traditional darkroom and excellent digital equipment.
- Quality audio-visual facilities, with a 4-metre screen.
- Studio flash lighting equipment.
- Professional mounting / framing facilities
- Our Mezzanine Gallery
- A very friendly atmosphere.
Our members' work is on display at our meetings, of course, but we also maintain a regularly-changing display in our Mezzanine Gallery at Primrose Park. The gallery is available to all Primrose Park members, normally for a month at a time. We provide assistance with framing and hanging, all at no cost. It's a popular initiative and we always have a long queue of reservations.
